TubeMogul Launches BrandPoint, a GRP Planning and Buying Tool for Digital Video

TubeMogul, a buy-side video ad platform, have launched ‘BrandPoint’, a new tool that enables brands and agencies to buy digital video advertising on a cost per gross rating point (GRP) basis. The tool shows buyers see what it will cost for each point and verifies whether the target audience was reached using Nielsen Online Campaign Ratings (OCR). Earlier in the week Tubemogul also announced that Chip Scovic, former head of Google’s media platforms business for advertisers and independent agencies, is now the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer.

Video GRP Buying FeatureTremor Sets Price for IPO 

Tremor Video, a video ad technology company, today announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 7,500,000 shares of common stock at a price to the public of $10.00 per share. The shares are expected to begin trading on NYSE under the ticker symbol “TRMR” on Thursday, June 27, 2013.

RTL Accelerate Move Into Online Video with €27 Million in BroadbandTV

RTL Group, one of Europe’s leading entertainment networks, has invested €27 million ($36 million) in BroadbandTV, YouTube’s fifth largest multi-channel network, which manages more than 7,800 channels and generates around 800 million video views per month.

Adap.tv Expands into Asia, Opens R&D Center in Hyderabad, India

Adap.tv, a video ad platform, have  opened a new research and development centre in Hyderabad, India. The newly created Adap.tv India will take the lead in the development of several of Adap.tv’s key technology products and the company will continue its aggressive push to hire software engineers in Hyderabad in the same way it has been having a high profile recruitment drive in New York City and Silicon Valley. The company says it aims to add more than 40 new members to its technology team in India before the end of 2013.

Number of Vine Tweets Doubles in Two Months, Say Unruly 

The number of Vine tweets sent every second has almost doubled in just two months. That’s according to new data released today by video technology company Unruly, which found the average number of tweets containing a Vine link had risen from five every second during April to nine every second during the first three weeks of June. “Vine’s explosive growth as a video sharing vehicle presents brands with countless opportunities for creativity which packs a serious punch into just a few seconds. This type of ‘sugar cube’ content can support and amplify longer form content,” said Barney Worfolk-Smith, head of creative solutions at Unruly.

Kay Schneider has joined Smartclip, the multiscreen video and brand advertising platform, as Director of their SmartX Platform. Schneider, an RTB specialist, will lead the commercial aspects of the Smartclip’s yield optimisation solution. The SmartX Platform optimises  RTB, programmatic interfaces and direct, guaranteed bookings. Kay Schneider has more than ten years’ experience in online marketing and before joining Smartclip he was co-founder and CEO at RevenueMax, a German based yield optimization company.
