It’s that time of year again when the industry descends upon the Koelnmesse exhibition centre in Cologne for DMEXCO, which this year takes place on September 12th and 13th. Video once again to features heavily across the expo and conference and VAN will be on-site and on stage to keep you up to date with the video and TV highlights.

Video and TV Advertising Guide 2019We will be offically launching the Video & TV Advertising Guide 2019 guide at DMEXCO, so if your’e attending keep an eye out for the trade press stands around exhibition centre. Alternatively, if your’e joining us at New Video Frontiers in London on October 2nd/3rd, you’ll receive a copy there.  The guide was produced in partnership with RTL AdConnect, Taboola and FreeWheel, and looks at addressable TV advertising, the market impact of 5G, how to make video more effective, our industry’s need for an ethical renaissance, the rise of the media alliances, and Q&A’s with Finecast CEO Jakob Nielsen and Arete Research’s founder and senior analyst Richard Kramer.

Day 2:  The Age of Alliances Panel

On Thursday, VAN Editor-in-Chief Vincent Flood will be moderating a panel titled “The age of alliances: how European media build powerful collaborations to stay competitive,” on day two on the Debate Stage at 12.55pm.

Joining him on the panel will be:

  • Stephane Coruble, CEO of RTL Ad Connect
  • Sabine Eckhardt, COO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media
  • Peter Kerckhoff, VP Content at Deutsche Telekom
  • Jonathan Lewis, Head of Digital & Partnership Innovation at Channel 4

The panel will discuss how traditional competitors in the media world are putting aside their differences and pooling their resources to help them overcome the challenges posed by the digital-first platforms. Eckhardt, Kerckhoff and Lewis will give insight to their strategies and experiences of how they’re using these alliances to fight back against the GAFAN threat.

The Main Exhibition & Conference

As with previous years, the Motion Stage is home to a lot of DMEXCO’s video-focussed content, featuring presentations from companies like YouTube, Snap and Twitch, but there’s a wide range of TV and video advertising related content spread out across all the venues on both days.
