Publicis Tops H1 Billings While WPP Posts Major Losses
Publicis Media was the runaway winner in combined business wins and retentions in H1 2025, according to the Global New Business Barometer (NBB) from COMvergence, an agency benchmarking business. Publicis generated $6 billion in new client billings, including Coca-Cola ($835 million) in North America, alongside eight global accounts: Barilla, Dropbox, Goodyear, LinkedIn, Mars, Paramount, PayPal, and Santander. At the opposite end of the table was WPP Media with $4 billion in account losses, including the aforementioned Coca-Cola business.
Search and Video Lead UK Digital Ad Investment
Digital ad spend in the UK reached £18.7 billion during H1 2025, according to the latest Digital Adspend report from IAB UK. Search contributed £8.3 billion in ad investment, followed by video with £4.3 billion in spend. The report noted that CTV (which IAB UK calls “TV+”) made up more than one-third of the video total.
TV Most-Used Device for YouTube Viewing in US
US viewers spent 16.3 billion hours watching YouTube via their TV sets in H1 2025, according to research from Digital i, accounting for 36 percent of total consumption. “This puts TV just ahead of the 35 percent of web viewing,” said the report. The findings follow data from Tinuiti last month that suggested more than half of YouTube ad dollars were now spent on TV.
AppLovin’s Market Cap Tops $200 Billion for First Time
AppLovin’s market cap topped $200 billion for the first time last week, continuing an accelerated year of growth for the mobile ad tech firm. The company’s market value has more than doubled since May 2025, when the business announced the sale of its video games business to London-based Tripledot Studios, shifting AppLovin’s focus to its high-growth advertising business.
