“Media and Tech are Two Sides of the Same Coin”

At this year’s Cannes Lions, RTL Group announced the merger of RTL AdConnect, G+J i|MS, and smartclip’s sales and media businesses into one combined unit: RTL AdAlliance.

Smartclip’s Oliver Vesper, who will be Chief Digital Officer and Deputy CEO of RTL AdAlliance, said the move is based on the understanding that media and tech are two sides of the same coin. In other words, media sales expertise nowadays has to be paired with technology which is tailored to local markets.
