Azerion Acquires Inskin Media

Azerion, a holding group which owns both game developers and gaming monetisation platforms, has acquired Inskin Media. Inskin is an ad tech company that specialises in multi-screen digital brand advertising. 

Inskin will be integrated into the Azerion platform, which will give clients access to a wider range of scalable ads. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

“We are delighted to welcome Inskin Media to our platform. Their focus on delivering high impact digital brand advertising to clients and partners aligns perfectly with our business ethos. The integration will also create great synergies within our best-in-class network of programmatic and digital advertising providers,” said Joost Merks, chief investment officer of Azerion.

Azerion has made a number of acquisitions in recent months. In September it acquired Sublime, a French ad tech company. Before that, in August it acquired Swedish mobile ad platform Keymobile. Just yesterday Azerion acquired monetisation platform PubGalaxy. 

As well as these ad tech acquisitions, Azerion had already acquired Sulake, which is the game maker that made Habbo Hotel, in January of this year, and social casino developer WHOW Games in June.  

This latest acquisition, which Azerion says puts it closer to becoming a “European digital powerhouse”, is the third ad tech company that it has acquired in under four months. In April of this year, the company secured €200M (£168m) in funding.

Azerion has followed the trend that has emerged of gaming developers and ad tech companies tying up together. For example, Zynga acquired Chartboost in May, and Vungle acquired GameRefinery in March of this year.

Iain Jacob, chair of Inskin Media, described Azerion as “one of the fastest growing media platform businesses in Europe”. 

“Azerion is rapidly building a powerful force in digital content and marketing. We love its ‘can do’ attitude and incredible development pace and we are really excited to become part of their growth story,” Jacob said.
