We’re excited to announced that Video Ad News will soon be rebranding to VideoWeek. However, we’ll be introducing the brand slowly over the next few weeks and we’ll have a number of exciting new announcements to make, so stay tuned for those.
The first thing we wanted to introduce you to is the VideoWeek Podcast, a new weekly podcast where our Editor-in-Chief Vincent Flood will be interviewing some of the biggest names in the industry. You can subscribe in your favourite podcast reader to avoid missing out on future episodes.
For our first episode, Flood is joined by industry legend Keith Weed. Weed made his name in the industry at FMCG-giant Unilever, where he spent over 30 years, rising to become Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. As CMCO, Weed helped drive the industry’s push towards transparency in digital advertising, and led Unilever’s moves towards purpose-drive advertising. Weed left Unilever last year, but is still very active in the industry. He is President of the Advertising Association, a board member at WPP, and an angel investor in a number of start-ups.
In this episode, Flood and Weed discuss what good advertising looks like during a global crisis, whether TV will remain at the heart of big brands’ media plans as audiences drift away from linear broadcasts, and whether the industry has made progress in building trust in advertising.
