SVOD Fatigue Will Ensure That AVOD Will Always Have a Role to Play

There are few industry battles more interesting than the SVOD market. How many OTT subscriptions will consumers be willing to pay for? Who has the strongest content library and the capital required to sustain it? Will the TV industry continue to pull their content off newer services like Netflix?  Against this backdrop, ad-funded services will have to work out what role they’re going to play alongside those services and the future remains unclear. However, Vincent Soucaret, Principal Consultant at Xandr, says that AVOD will continue to have a role to play provided it can solve challenges associated with fragmentation.
