Smart TV Manufacturers are the Sleeping Giants of OTT says SpotX’s Buckley

While the early days of over-the-top (OTT) distribution have been largely dominated by platforms that were plugged into a TV via a peripheral device, that might be about to change, says Sean Buckley, chief revenue officer at SpotX, who believes that smart TV manufacturers are the sleeping giants of the space.

Buckley says some of the data the smart TV makers have access to, as well as their ability to like linear and OTT viewing, mean they are well placed to play a major role in OTT advertising.
