Ad of the Week: Smart, ‘Facelift’, BBDO Proximity, Berlin

This week’s Ad of the Week was produced for Smart, the car manufacturer, by BBDO Proximity Berlin. The campaign is for the launch of Smart’s ForTwo model, which has been recently been redesigned and relaunched. As Smart have happily ruled themselves out of the more phallic side of the car market, they’re don’t have to be the most macho of brands and a more feminine aesthetic with their advertising.

The results are stunning in an ad that is as simple as it is camp, while managing to cram in some great moments of humour and sadness. If your Deutsch isn’t up to scratch, the text at the end says ‘A facelift to be jealous of’.
