Smartclip to Manage LG’s Connected TV Inventory in Europe, Russia, Australia

Smartclip, LGAdconion-owned SmartClip, a video ad platform, have announced they will be partnering with LG Electronics on the monetization of LG’s Smart TV inventory for Europe, Russia and Australia. Smartclip will be able to offer various formats, from video pre-roll and display ads to interactive formats which they say are aimed at ‘enhancing the consumer experience’.

The agreement also includes the inventory that LG plan to bring online through app partnerships with content providers in the US and Europe, so SmartClip will also be the partner of choice for monetization for third party apps on LG Smart TVs.

The LG Smart TV platform is currently available on all LG Smart TVs, LG’s blu-ray player on Smart 3D and Smart TV Upgrader (LG’s own OTT box that gives regular HDTVs connected functionality). In future LG plan to expand their Smart TV platform across mobile and other consumer devices.
