Daniel Danker, BBC’s General Manager, Programmes & On Demand, said that the industry needs to work together to simplify the connected TV proposition for the consumer. Speaking at the Digital TV Group Summit in London, Danker pointed to the fact that 98% of viewing time is still spent on linear broadcasting. And while viewing on connected TVs had grown tenfold, iPlayer is getting four times as much traffic from people using iPads, in spite of the fact that there are twice as many connected TVs in UK homes.
